On this morning on wed I think it was, they did a bit about cancer sniffing dogs and diabetes alerting dogs. Was interesting the filmed the indications earlier on the show so less noise and lights ect, the cancer dog had a brill indication, he sniffs i think it was 5ml samples of urine and lays next to iy with head on pot till handler approaches. They were saying how they used one sample that someone had had cancer as a negitive but the dog kept indicating on it, turned out the cancer had returned to another part of his body, and interesting the dog is better at indication early stages when the cancer gets large the dog no longer indicates on it!

It’s brilliant isn’t it? the seizure alert dogs amaze me, they must watch the person so closely to observe slight changes before they have a fit so they can get in a safe position.

Hmm I wonder with the seizure dogs if they are watching them closely of if there is a change in hormone or something that they smell?! thats what they saying with the diabetes dog they know from smell of well they used a sweat sample to simulate what the dog would do, got find the insulin pen, but they know the diff between hypo and hyper.

Wonder if clips on itv website of real player?

seizure dogs are amazing – some theories say they pick up on minute electrical signals pre-seizure, they are SO clever … all of them 😀
