totally agree, what you have said in your post echoes along the lines that I was thinking.

Emma – is it really serious breeders who cause the “serious overpopulation” – I dont know the figures but I imagine not.  I imagine its “careless unions” “puppy farms” and the “just one litter” people that mainly add to this.  This does not mean that pedigree dogs dont come into rescue – heck they even appear in general rescue which says something of the sickening quanity in some breeds but are they the dogs bred by serious breeders, or are they puppies who have been bred as “pedigree” to make money and passed to unsuitable homes.
