this box by the way…was my granma’s  ::) it a solid oak maids box with a lovely paper lining …it was bought in 1900 when she went away to be a lady’s under maid at the age of 17…(it cost her father 5 shillings and ninepence  ;D a lot on money in 1900)….a position she got sacked from for going awol when she heard her lab girl was welping ….it been taken over by various clumbers…been p****d on…bled on…jumped on and off on…been gnawed at …we finally got around to protecting it with various bedding stuff… livs the only one allowed to eat on it  ::) ::) …so she thinks it is hers… ;D ;D
