right you lot…val and i been chatting…as in val and I so not the other mods…..

and we think we need a bit of a ‘boost’ so….

we done various quizzies and guess the breed etc

so what we doing is this

we doing a thread on animal health…you get clues to the condition we decide….you then …and wait for it  ;D not only have to answer what we have in our heads…yep …you being freeshaped  ;D but then…..have to extend…as in it this it that it can do this it needs the other….ok with me…we going from A to Z

and we on 5 pattern stages..so the first bit is A to E….ok with me…this going to be one hell of a long thread …..if/it depending on players….but…

at the end of A to E the person with the correct answer and the best response to how what where why…will get  £10 voucher for pet stuff

at the end…as in when we reach z …finally…. there will be a bonus…dending on how may out of the section criteria’s you have won….so  STARTER FOR 10

    it starts with A  😀

    auto-immune diseases

the immune system is supposed to detect and neutralise foreign bodies but it can turn on the dogs own cells.  it can be genetic (inherited or mutation) and can be invoked by vaccine reactions.

it basically kills the dog from the inside out.

these can include anaemia (which is a symptom, not the disease) where your iron / red blood cell / oxygen transport doesnt work properly.  become tired easily, lethargic.

ETA: hey you … i was typing stuff out – do we just guess the condition first ?? !!!

due to suffering from HD as a breed …

is genetic but not straight forward – excellent scores can have poor pups and vice versa which suggests some polygenic inheritance and / or env. factors

Achondroplasia – abnormal development of cartilage leading to dwarfism (seen aberrantly in most breeds, but that’s what makes a Basset hound and other achondroplastic breeds long and low) – ooh this is really interesting stuff Bev – am going to read more tonight at home!
