its the same idea i assume, having never herd this object,i don’t know how loud it is.
a clap would do the same job, its a loud Sharp noise that distracts the dog’s attention. and as said before its cheaper and you don’t have to go looking for it if you don’t have it to hand when your dog starts barking.

or here’s are gem – if you teach your dog when to bark – you can then teach it not to bark.

Get the bark on cue – get the sshhh on cue.  If you are at flyball and loads of dogs are barking and the adrenaline is high – hand clapping will get lost unless you teaching as a visual cue as well as audio.  finger to the lips in a sshhh  ;D  oh and costs nothing  ;D  and pooch doesn’t mind it either  😉

hand clapping shouldnt be used constantly like a cue – i think its one level up from “ah-ah” when you want to interrupt / distract

bark / nobark cue is a gem for barking in general 🙂

an interrupter like this is for uncued behaviour (i think thats right)

i used it to calm tension between mist and bonnie without “punishing” either dog – thus not reducing bonnies status or encouraging mist – *then* once they listening i can cue to do whatever i want next …
