Mum is taking up keeping bees… they aren’t there yet but will be by next time we go, so want to bee (  ;D ) prepared just in case…
borrowed this from Lassie’s health thread..
    Bites and stings

    Piriton Tablets
    Dose –  1 x 4mg per day for a small dog
                3 x 4mg per day for a medium dog
                5 x 4mg per day for a large dog
    wasp sting – vinegar
    bee sting – bicarb
    ant bites – ?

So Fritz being about 22kg he’s be a medium right?
Do I give him 1 straight away and then at intervals throughout the day? If so, after how long before next tab?

also, what do you do with the bi-carb?  :-\
    Mum’s lab is a bit bigger.. would I give him 5 x?

Give him three a day so if he gets stung at lunch time you can give him one then and one for tea and on for supper.
Bi-Barb mix a little bit into a paste and cover the sting.
I would not think he will get stung as the noise usually keeps dogs away from the hive

only found out about the vinegar after Inca ran through a wasps nest, we were so lucky we were with the group as one of the guys just scooped her up and slid down the hill off the path strait to the watter and dunked her. it was scary as she just went limp. but i think it was more shock than anything.

hope the bee keeping goes well, is it just so she can get Honey for herself or is she starting up a wee bobby Honey business.
