ok, no idea where to put this, and i can’t find it anywhere else, have just had a search.

is there any way of drying out liver – and poss other things like chicken or fish – so can cut up into training treats that are nice and dry and will go in pocket and not crumble? my liver cake is very crumbly.  :-\ and if so how – in nice simple steps please cos cook is a four letter word.  ;D

am fed up of spending a fortune on bags of treats that last 2 minutes…

I just cut into strips boil for 5 mins and bake until dry in oven for about 40 mins [about 200 degrees] then take out, cut into the size I want, I do em small for Tobes, and bake again til crunchy

Dude, with liver or chicken liver I rinse it under cold water, boil it for 15 minutes (just a slow boil and don’t let it boil over or you’ll be sorry LOL ) drain it and rinse again if it’s really scummy, let it cool, cut it into strips or if you’re really bored, bite sized pieces, then throw it on a baking sheet and put in oven at around 200f…..should take around 45 minutes to an hour…I like mine still a little spongy but see what the pups like

I don’t bother making the cake, liver’s dirt cheap anyway

    it’s easy good luck

so can i clarify what seem like very silly points please..

    A) do you boil it sort of like you would with vegetables or an egg?
    B) once it is boiled is it nice and easy to cut into pieces instead of all squelchy?

    Thank you.  :-*

If you don’t want it for bait then cut it in fingers my royal ones like it that way they trot off with them looking like they have taken up smoking  ;D and crunch their way through them
