    ok im sorry if this is posted somwere else, i have had look but noing me ive missed it  😀

    i am thinking of putting together a first aid kit for if stan (doG forbid) should ever get hurt, what i would like to know is. what do i need, e.g bandages, gauze etc and were would be the best place to get the items

    Did ours couple of weeks ago, from a combination of local chemist and pet shop, Toby was poorly and we didn’t have a thermometer and I could have kicked myself.  Would be silly to have anything happen through not having stuff

    Socks – put on sore paws
    Splints  – broken bones
    St. Johns Wort  – pain relief 
    Sulphide Ointment – pass
    Tape  – hold  Gauze Pads  on wound
    Thermometer  – check temp
    Tweezers – splinters and thorn  removal
    Vaseline   – good for sore pads and noses
    Vet Wrap  – for limbs, sprains or cuts 
    Water Steri. Tabs  – clean dirty water 
    Wipes   – clean wounds
    Witch-Hazel   – bruising and minor scrapes
    Most can be got from a chemist or Holland and Barrett

    Ah no, is something completely different  😀 .

    I thought it was made of Goldflower. Something you can easily make yourself. We say Goldflower  :-\ , you know it though…. Flower been mentioned here loads of times befor…. Can’t remember the English name  ::) …

    Val? You know what Goldflower is. It the orange-yellow flower. Been used for centuries. You can easily make maceraats and ointments, make tea or eat the flower in your food. Flower and plant itself can be used. Shhhhhh.t! I can’t remember  ::) . It’s warming and skin protecting if you make a maceraat from it. It stimulates the bloodflow of the skin, is wondhealing, and reduces infections. The old name is ‘bride of the sun’. Not Arnica but ……

    YEAH, THAT’S IT!  😀
    Always got maceraat around. Mixed with vaseline it very good to put on boys’ pads when it snows  :yes: .

    almond oil…what i used to use mixed with vit e powder for protecting inside ears before and for cleaning ears after being in water….now just for before swimming as i use vals ear cleaner afterwards

    sulphur ointment…minor grazes to non fur area’s, cracked noses, cracked pads etc…common before anti bi’s were invented
