I’ve read about someone whose dog suffers with flea allergy…..had allergy tests….and is now waiting for their vet to order the vaccine from the company that did the allergy testing….it will be specifically tailored to the dog. The jabs will be given every 3 days gradually reducing over 9 months to one jab a month. Cost £85 a year. Anyone heard of these vaccines before?
Mmm customers dog has certain allergys and has shots every so many months – a mild version of the allergy? It hink not sure – anyway it helps, not overly so though.
I think there may be a misunderstanding around semantics. There is to the best of my knowledge no vaccine for an allergy that is not what a vaccine is.
However some allergies are treated with desensitisation injections every month; they work for some dogs not others.
Ah thanks Suz and Sweetypye! Yes desensitisation does sound feasible now. Apparently this little dog is in a mess with scratching and scabby skin…..be interesting to see how she gets on.
