Just stumbled across this forum, I’m normally going onto horsey forums, but they have become much of a muchness, and I’m branching out.

I have a very lovely (well I would say that) GSP, that was 1 at the beginning of August, I love him to bits.

We go to training once a week, as well as agility once a week, which we both love.

Anybody else have one, would love to hear your stories.

    Hi there and welcome

Would love to see pics of your GSP!

My dogs are a rough collie, Simba,  and an english pointer called Oscar, he’s a rescue from dogs trust… he’s 5 years old and he’s STILL a loony!  🙂

Mental ?  A myth – highly intelligent and if not channelled then they get bored and can become unruly and disruptive and hyper – I suppose like any dog that was bred to work and then not living a full and challenging life.

I have had the pleasure of being owned by 3 in my life (so far)  All different with different personalities and different needs.  Not one of them “mental” but all well trained and well cared for and exercised both mentally and physically.  Nacho is the most wonderful creature I have ever encountered in my life and that includes the two legged variety.  ;D

    Glad to hear it Mudgie!

Jasper my pointer would be the same, but he is kept busy and occupied, so that he keeps himself out of trouble.

A Wiemeranier is still at the top of the list for my next dog, well its next to Pointer, as I am rather inlove with the breed at the moment.

Did you know there is both an german and an english pointer on many tears at the min – the gp looks to be in a bit of a sorry state mentally  🙁

Suz was referring to the pointers they’ve got in the Many Tears rescue centre at the moment, very sad.

I talked to MT about adopting a dog from them before I got Oscar, but they wouldn’t let me as Simba isn’t spayed and it’s an inflexible rule  :'(

Still, worked out ok in the end.. I got my loony tune pointer elsewhere  ;D
