Pipers hurt her back leg this morning, think she slipped off the wall in the garden :-\ It’s like a chunk of skin missing, can see the muscle underneath :vomit: Not bleeding and I don’t think it could be stitched, don’t really want to do vet unles totally necessary :-\ I have some antiseptic wound powder or is it just best to leave it ??? It’s not bothering her, she’s not licking it!
What do you think?
January 10, 2009 at 2:10 pm #85701AnonymousGuestSorry Nat think thats a vet trip it can be stitched but leaving it open brings in all sort of problems it may need packing you will have nothing at home to close that hole.
If I had a hole on the beardies that deep and that wide I would take a trip to the vets and as you know I stitch my own and superglue the devils together if needed
Good Luck with the clumsy girlie

Dex sends healing licks 😛 😛 😛January 10, 2009 at 6:43 pm #85705*Nat*MemberWe’re home 🙂 2 stitches in it, had antibioic injection and has some tablets for a week 🙂 I had the choice of sedation and a couple of staples :-X, GA and leave her there for about 5 hrs or this drug where it knocks her out then they reverse it after the stitches are done, so we went for that! Took her about half an hour to come round and she’s very dopey now but fine 🙂 The vet let me and Ellis be with her the whole time, amazed Ellis watched the stitches being done, think if it were Mitchell he’d had ended up on the floor lol 😀
Anyway she’s ok, got desolvable stitches so hopefully they’ll go on their own ok, its not covered, vet didn’t think it necessary but I need to keep it clean and I’ll wrap a towl round her neck to stop her getting at it 🙂
Thanks Val and Lassie for the advice and thanks Dex for the healing licks :-*
