Please could someone have a look at the pics and tell me if this is a tick? I found this on Doug this evening, and it’s situated between his shoulder and elbow. I’ve never seen a tick before and this looks like a large skin tag….pink in colour. Obviously if this is some kind of skin tag or wart, it’ll do more damage to use a tick remover tool. I did’nt think it was the season for ticks? I’d be grateful for any advice. Thanks.

Nacho has had a tick and it was pink – not sure though on this – I would watch it see how it changes in shape colour etc.

No, not a tick. Skin tag or wart.

Ticks usually start off black and when they feed they change to big white bodies due to all the blood they suck if you don’t catch them.

Phew! That’s a relief!  🙂 Thank you all for your quick responses.
I guess just leave it alone? or should warts be treated in some way?

Leave it alone unless it bothers him, if you are worried you could get your vet to check it for you.

Dex has one  its black, everyone we meet says ooo he’s got a tick! wouldnt mine a £1 for each time people say it I’d be rich by now 😀 its hard to see but will try and get a pic for you, his probably looks more like a tick than Dougs, if they get bigger you can have them tied off, then they just drop off and you’d never know it had been there.

I should have taken pics of the ticks Loki picked up in Scotland  :-X

They were nasty – very grey looking – and got bigger… we took them off with a tick tool thing (Expect most of you will laugh at me for having purchased specialist tools – wasn’t brave enough for tweezers tho!)

I wont laugh at you Sarah I wont even touch the little blighters and the whole world knows if they wriggle their little legs at me  :embarrass:  :help:
