    Ok not me Sky  😉

Since we’ve had her she’s scooted… anal glands been checked and don’t seem to be the problem! She goes through stages of it being bad then not so bad! She’s on Barking Heads dry food (Bad Hair Day one) and Nature Diet! Last time I was at vets he tried telling me its linked to her pink feet  ??? She gets pinky feet in the summer, which we’ve put down to an allergy to grass pollen, she licks them a lot and hey go quite pink! Usually just front feet. Vet suggested we put her on steroids for it  >:D You can imagine how I reacted to that one!! He did suggest evening primrose as a natural barrier for her skin so have got her on that!
She does this very dramatic thing now where she sits, points nose in the air and does 360 turns on her arse  :what: Its quite spectacular really, not so keen when she does in on our carpet rather than the grass though  ::)
    Any suggestion please?

    ok hun…thinking cap on time

are you using chemicals on carpets/floors
are you feeding the dried and wet food at the same time
is it worse after going to loo
whats her urine like…how close to ground does she squat when she wee’s
when did you last worm her
is she itchy or is it habit
    is her anus swollen
    is her vulva swollen

what do you say and do when she doing it

feet are pink as she is prob light sensitive and it the licking that makes them go pink….  baby spray sunblock on in sunshine…i would use calamine and witchazel as a block not EP…lots of white bits on staffies are LS….

am back haha…you know i will ask a dozen questions to your one  :agree:

Lol ok…. only thing I use on floors downstairs is multi-surface cleaner well diluted.

I put dry food in her bowl in morning on its own and she picks at it through the day, sometimes doesn’t touch it, sometimes eats it all, whats left I mix with wet in evening.

She does it outside after pooing usually… then on the odd occasion scoots indoors on carpet. And when she indoors I do say “ah ah” to stop her!

Urine seems fine, weeing fine, normal height from floor, wee’s a fair bit when out like scent marking and no her vulva’s not swollen.

Anus looks a bit pink but think thats where she’s been scratching  it, don’t look swollen no.

I’ve wondered if it habit… maybe I’ve reinforced it by reacting  :-\ I wormed her a month ago, I use Advocate ever since we treated her for Sarcoptic Mites when we first got her, use this every 6 weeks and its got wormer  in it too… whipworm, hookworm, roundworm, heartworm, crenosoma, angiostrongylus and larvae

badbadbad leaving food down…and badbadbad mixing whats left with the wet  :nono:

when did she last have a bone?

off to look at this dried food….suggest you get some aloe vera on her bum…sounds like she getting internal irritation from food if she only does it after a pooh….

and you know what i think of advocate  :boooo:

why on earth are they putting dried tomatoes in dog food  >:D >:D
jeez…bloody cheap bulker … prob from abroad so prob loaded with weedkiller…

tomatoes contain tomatine….even ripe ones…drying tomatoes natually increases the tomatine present….tomatine can be a serious irritatant (it is also toxic in large quanties hence why tomato plants are poisonous…even cows cant tolerate it )…certainly if she sensitve to it…it will be irritating the sensitive tissue around the anus…they also add msm…an strong antioxidant…but also this acts as a ‘helper’ to absorb other ingredients…my nephew id allergic to tomatine…he comes out in hives on soft tissue…mouth bum privates etc and itches like hell….

my advice…take her off it…stop leaving food down…stick to nature diet and olive oil with some extra green veg added…bet she improves

Ok will do, thanks Bev… have just bought a bag but will take it back tomorrow 🙂 So roughly how much Nature Diet should she have, I’ve been giving her half a tub in evening with a small cup of the Barking Heads… shall I give her a whole carton split into two meals? She won’t always eat breakfast :/ She always has a roast on Sunday 😉 Loves her veg, wouldn’t touch em when we first got her but loves it now 🙂

well…guess staffies didnt get much fish lol
introduce her to the taste by putting a bit of raw mince into her naturediet until you can alter the balnace and up the raw…plunge chicken wing into hot water…stick some olive oil on…once she got the bulky crap out of her tum and she not snacking out…she will eat if it she hungry…she used to getting ‘fast food’  😉

Ok its been about 9 or 10 days since we cut out the dry food and Sky seems to be scooting less… not stopped completely which makes me wonder if its become a bit of a habit  :-\ She’s not licking her bum so much either so hopefully its less irritated  🙂

Thanks Bev, fingers crossed we’re getting somewhere  :ok:
