Kennel Club to Lodge a Complaint to Ofcom regarding BBC Programme and Reviews
its BBC Contract
The Kennel Club is lodging a complaint to Ofcom in respect of the recently
broadcast programme ‘Pedigree Dogs Exposed’ (BBC1) in view of its unfair
treatment and editing and failure to fairly and properly reflect the Kennel
Club’s deep commitment to the health and welfare of dogs and responsible dog
ownership despite being made aware in detail of those efforts in advance of
broadcast. Further, in the light of this programme, the Kennel Club is
reviewing its contract with the BBCSeptember 16, 2008 at 9:28 pm #109305AnonymousGuest
oh yes please – maybe then it will be someone other than that annoying man who forgets which breed and sex dogs that win their group are 🙂September 17, 2008 at 8:57 am #109306MudgieMember
I think it is only right that they get a chance to respond and produce and show the positive stuff they do. I think that the show was very biased however I also think if it has highlighted anything that is wrong and protocol is reviewed then that is a good thing.
If you remember Martin Clunes did a show (two parter) about dogs relationship with man with Mr Fogle and how breeds had evolved through man over the years. I really enjoyed the programme, it was inciteful and interested and had a good aura about it. We all still talking about the KC one – funny how the bad press gets remembered long after the good.
If the KC can balance this out and still take onboard their failings and educate the public then some good will come of it.September 17, 2008 at 9:53 am #109307Kerry_and_BeauMember
i wonder how many not dog people that are up in arms about the kc programme watched the martin clunes one or infact would watch anything the kc put on now and believe it ?? as a general public we are quite scarey en mass and very stubborn and very sheep like ::) i think it is going to be very hard to repair the damage.
