…for doggies!
Rafe decided that frozen peas, altho yummy, were of no interest to him beyond criteria 1. So I made some doggy flapjacks last night to take as treats out on a walk. They had to be 1) capable of being used when out – so not gooey and sticky 2) able to be broken into treat sized bits 3) not containing gluten or dairy 4) yummy!!
Ingredients – 4oz raw (beef) mince, couple bigish mugs of porridge oats, seriously good slug of olive oil, and 1 egg.
Mix all ingredients together in a doggy bowl, adding porridge until it’s pretty solid and no more will mix in nicely.
Roll between hands into 1/2 inch thick(ish!) sausages (or however you fancy!)
Bake at 180 ish for 15-20 mins.
They’re really good, and I have a cheap, easy to make, DRY (but nice and moist on the inside!) treat to take with me when out and about.
Tesco beef mince £2.75 per kilo frozen
Tesco value porridge oats – 58p!!!!! per kilo (that’s cheaper than mixer biscuits!)
Hope your doggies enjoy!
