If a breeder is surrounded with older dogs grandma and such like then you know with luck the lines are long lived, MS have things as you know that can’t be tested for in a young pup so if there are aged dogs around it’s a good pointer in the health of the stock
My Caz has had no problem with hers, hubby who was a big dog man wants another they go to work with him every day
She has salt and pepper he fancies a black one next

Val, VWD is that Von Willebrands ?  I don’t see that listed on the MS Club website..they list Cushings, pancreatitis, juvenile cataracts and some others

    quote :

checked on the age of the dogs she has living with her

    What does that mean Val?

Ok that’s what I thought you meant but wasn’t sure. makes sense to me.  Was just kidding about a white one, really want black. Not going to dock tail either.

here’s the reason that J wants one (as explained to me)

First she wants a friend for Sadie. A dog that likes to go for long walks but also walks ‘with’ her. Sadie is very independent, it’s in the breeding but I’ve also reinforced it so a walk with Sadie is sort of like walking by yourself. This is perfect for me as i get the greatest joy in watching her hunt and work.  However J would like a dog that spends most of its time near her while Sadie is off hunting. Also, livng with sadie is like having a permanent seat at the emergency ward and i know it’s getting to her. Dog must be active, brave, cheeky, tough and not boring! Must get along with other dogs and cats and like a nice lap
and bev, would their drives be complimentary under these conditions?

So does the MS fit these requirements?

I’m fine with getting one now as my Picardy foundation stock is 1 1/2 to 2 years away when the dogs I want will be bred, plus we’ll have moved to the country by then.

My Caz has three cats as well I think they fit in with most dogs and people BUT if Sadie is hunting think you may find the MS doing the same  :ok:

I once went on a Schnauzer club walk and all the yappers were the minis. All the standards were all good boys and girls. 😀

[/quote]Yeah it was at the High Corner Inn! Heehee, were you there?

Saying that though, standards aren’t the quietest. I’ve never known a dog who ‘talks’ as much as Floyd.  :canadian:
