March 10, 2009 at 12:32 pm #86351deebeeMemberno doubt they saw that it was within the normal range.
she commented on the low cortisol though to say that it couldnt be a pituritry problem
March 10, 2009 at 2:23 pm #86352*Nat*MemberThis may sound daft but are thyroid ranges different from boys and girls ???
March 10, 2009 at 4:06 pm #86353deebeeMemberi did spell it out to them why they were testing and also again that it was for a male when they came back, but what can i do if i dont know the normal levels?

[/quote]March 10, 2009 at 4:55 pm #86355ValMemberAlso this has been done to soon any residue of drugs that he has been on can give a false reading on the T4
ValMarch 10, 2009 at 5:57 pm #86356deebeeMemberhe wasnt on any drugs at the time.
i was groping in the dark when all this came to a head. its done now, nothing i can do about it.
between a rock and a hard place, thats why i hesitated putting the results up.
March 10, 2009 at 9:36 pm #86357ValMemberGlad you put them up by doing that you would be suprised how many people will read this.
A GA is a drug it can send blood results haywire he would also of had a pre med and a shot of painkiller before he came round add to that the stress and shock factor.
Better to retest him after three mths and see if the results are the same preferably with Jean as she’s the best and it’s cheaper

these are the results of blood taken in jan, and he was castrated in february.
he will be tested again in a few months.
March 11, 2009 at 3:00 pm #86359Justine&RafeMemberdeebee – I’m finding this mega interesting – and it must be horrid for you to go through, but certainly is very educational for everyone else reading it. I suppose it goes some way to explain why dogs act “weird” with other dogs some of the time with no rational explanation.
And if his results are haywire, then that is no fault of yours! Don’t feel like you’ll be judged for it!
Good luck for the next set of results…

i was just going to let you all know that ive booked max in for blood test today. then saw this. oh well. maybe that by sending it to the original labs, the results will be comparable to the original readings . iyswim.
June 2, 2009 at 6:45 am #86361kizkiznobiteMemberfingers and paws crossed that all is well…
hugs to the daft oneJune 10, 2009 at 9:47 am #86362deebeeMembervet just called, the results.
eostrogen under 40
testosterone under 0.3
cortisol up abit but it was low to begin with
have definitely seen the difference with other dogs, but he is also less in their faces. jumps up and down in front of them now instead of on them.
greets to the face, not the backside.its probably a combination of more normal hormone levels and the amount of dogs ive got him to greet/play with.
opinions/comments/questions welcome 🙂
June 11, 2009 at 7:09 am #86363kizkiznobiteMemberthe female hormone is the calmer…great news ….now his head is clear of all that sex stuff and his scent has changed so other dogs respond better he can do some serious learning 🙂
hugs to the big daft dog
