she is cuberts daddy’s line…she is a sealumber…and i know that jan will say a prayer for her everynight because jan is a good and caring and careful breeder….i know jan was crawling up the walls on this….

RSPCA –  :nono: :nono: :nono: to giving money to the central organisation BUT …..

some local groups are well worth supporting – donate in cash and suggest you dont need a receipt or they’ll have to give the money to central funds who “dish out accordingly” this way they can keep it and not have to declare it 🙂

I have come to the sad conclusion that donating ITEMS not money is the only way to ensure the dogs get what they need.

no claire…you are wrong…that is too risky…their internal auditors would pick that up and those emploees would be exposed…i know this…i been there with an org that worked on the same lines….and by giving funds this way it feeds the pig as dad would say…the only way to stop this is to stop funding…make them open up policies so that the gen public are more aware…the local branches need more say….the general public…ie those that give by cov’s etc…need to go to AGM’s …they need the voice that goes with the cash….

my advice is to stay there Mudgie 🙂  if you want to donate to help dogs there are plenty of good rescues that people on here work with.  its not only RSPCA who dont work with BR’s many rescues dont and it annoys me alot.

i hate things when they show themselves as being one thing on tv (all these wonderful docus that follow the rspca around etc and show how loving they are and how far they will go to save a poor animal….then in real life “no we don’t deal with that, call someone else” stranded seals dying slowly on our beaches…

and our office is based on a canal so we get alot of ducks, called 3 times the other week, one was obviously dying, another has a broken leg and can’t walk so is pray and another has line dangling from its mouth and has done for months, we call and call. ok madam we will pass on all that info to the local team and someone will call around.

the sick duck died, got necked by a guy off the shop floor after they didn’t turn up in 24 hrs (still haven’t 2 weeks later) don’t know where the one with the broken leg has gone, probably killed and the other still has line hanging from it mouth.  but by god they have plenty of time to take your money, i used to donate, they called one ight to thank me then asked me to double it so i told them where to go…funnily enough this was just after they got their additional powers of prosecution and they had just gone and taken those horses from the farm where loads had already died.  i stopped paying after that.

i find what people have put is sickening and very upsetting, i had an idea that the rspca was bad but had no idea they were that bad.

my experiance with the rspca:
the farm that the horse i look after was at last year was right next to a very busy main road. one day i got up there and some sheep were in the feild, i found the hole in the fence that they had got through so i rang the rspca to get them to come and at least help me herd the sheep into the barn so they would be safe. they told me it wasnt up to them and i need to contact the farmer…mmmm :-\ yeh sheep realy wear collers telling you the farmers number, anyway i told them that the sheep had access to the bridleways and could very easily get onto the main road and cause a massive (potentially fatal) accident, they said “sorry its not our problem”

i never have and never will donate any money on possetions or anything to the rspca and im sorry to say it but i will never re-home from them either. i find them dispicable and were possible i tell people about how bad they are

this will never leave me … not ever

On the floor in a shed, still with a chain attached was the skeleton of a curled up dog. All that remained was a piece of hair on the tail.

this was found by rescuers shortly after an inspector from a “large rescue organisation” had called and taken away 1 dog to be immediately pts it was so ill, a second dog was left there living alongside its little skeleton friend.

Oh Mudgie what a topic  ;D the RSPCA what can I say have forgotten loads of cases that I or one of my breeds have been involved in, going back a long time to one of my first run in with them.
I had a phonecall from one of their branches asking me if I would take on a cat Yes a cat it was a nine month old cream longhair, very badly knotted and was washing it’s self into a bigger knot.

I said OK I would get it straight but they must rehome it as I already had four cats along with six dogs so cat comes home and slowly I start de knotting him after a few weeks I put him under a woods lamp and he lit up like a christmas tree, he had ringworm so I phoned the branch they said bring him over I thought it was to give me the tablets to get rid of the ringworm.

Boy was I wrong they were going to put him to sleep so after a lot of words were exchanged I stuffed him back in the car and legged it to my vet where he was treated we then lost him  :surprise: he went home with one of the partners in the practice.
I then had another run in with them over a rough collie that was in kennels I was asked by the clubs rescue to go in as a member of the public I managed to get the dog out, it has also happened with Bearded Collies at least half a dozen time tround the UK they would not let us rehome the dogs and we as a club have had to send Joe public in to get the dogs so that we as a rescue within the breed could rehome to the right people.
Also had a case with two pekingese lived in Sussex owner died cow of a daughter took them into the RSPCA a friend traced the dogs and tried to buy them back No luck so we tried as a club No luck so in went Joe public and at great expence we got the dogs out the club picked up the tab and they both came home with me their nails were so far into the pads they had to have a GA to remove them they were also shaved off by me while they were under GA they had only had these two for 3 weeks.

When I lived up London way the local branch was under threat of being closed so some ladies asked my training club if we could give some dog bits for them to sell.
Me and my big mouth said we can do better than that we will hold and exemption show as they were called then, this was back in the eighties we made over 500 quid, the branch was then shut down and I learn’t that all funds go to the head office.
I could go on Mudgie as life has been long but these cases stick in my mind they have been taken to court so many times it’s utterly ridiculous that they have Government backing under the AWB.
I would not spit on them if they were on fire.
Trust me what you see on the TV is not how they are in the real world if you were to spend a day at a dog show and ask the exhibitors what they thought you would have stories the whole day long.
I for one said Hooray when they pulled out of Crufts IMO they should have been thrown out over the dead dog pyramid

Some years ago they erected a massive poster of a pyramid of dead dogs right in the middle of Crufts it upset a lot of people that had come to enjoy Crufts as many dog lovers do  :ok:
