cross posted – not sure if this is the right place or not ???
If anyone is in the East Midlands area, please take a minute to look at this link. Appeals have gone out all over Derbyshire. The dog was so cruelly treated by his previous owner that he will not approach humans. He will run away. He has been at large since Spring. If he lasts these next few weeks, it will be a miracle. The only hope is that someone finds him taking shelter in an out-house, shed, barn or similar & that they can shut him in & call the RSPCA.

The RSPCA were on our local radio last week. They said he will run a mile to avoid all humans. Apparently his previous owner used to open the shed door (where he spent his miserable 3 or 4 yrs)just to beat him. He had never known kindness. The dog doesn’t come from this area, he escaped from the people who had kindly rehomed him. All local Farmers have been visited in the hope the dog takes refuge somewhere. Some have agreed to try & help, others have threatened to shoot him.October 29, 2008 at 9:09 pm #90639GSPmadMember
