    They do think that they are Akitas. They are frightened of nothing – amazing little dogs. ;D

    Sturdy isn’t the word. You have no idea just how strong they are until you try to hold one still while you try to clip it’s claws. It takes two of us and it still isn’t easy :yes: :yes:!

    Excuse my ignorance but what were they bred for?
    I like sturdy dogs and double coats

    I believe they were used as a terrier-type dog, as well as for hunting bigger game. They were widely used in Japan for hunting wild boar, so you can see why they don’t scare easily.
