Brought a tear to my eye – I love your pictures, gorgeous tribute.
I lost my ‘Bess’ – actually called Fugley on Tuesday, after nearly 17 years together. I feel really sad :'( .
You are very brave to share, thank you.

Dongle is all mended now!
He is back off lead (after warm up), for about ten minutes at a time now. All his muscle is nearly all back too, he is properly weight bearing.
He is a lucky boy.
Thanks for the replies.
She is lovely. Is she German Pointer?
I have a dog who is spay incontinent, it started within a month of having her spayed, she is now 15. She was on Propalin Syrup, now on Uralin Syrup – very low dose, two drops twice a day.
If I were you though, I would take her to the vet. It seems very odd for it to start so many years after being spayed. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks for replies. He is in very good hands, had a 40 minute appointment with physio on Wed and got another on Tuesday. We have a strict regime on exercise, cold compresses, massage and flexing.
Val – ‘Dongle the Daft’ – spot on! 😀 – his tendon was 90% severed OUCH!
He won’t start hydro therapy for a while yet, the cast is on for 6 weeks.
Absolutely gutted for you. :'(

Thanks for replies and good wishes. 🙂
Quick update. He has had his CT scan and will be home for a few days while the clever vet people examine the images.
Will update again.
Hi Val, I tried it and it didn’t work.
I’m just going to let her get on with it and let her pee indoors – poor love has earned that right at least.
I have boys and girls – but only because the boy came much later after all the girls ‘done’ and boy ‘done’ at earliest opportunity. No breeding in my house, you see!
You live and learn, hey Toppy.
It’s great that you have an option to get Milly away to mum in laws. I would get her off as soon as possible – best for both doggies and you too.
That’s a good idea Val – not one that had even occurred to me, I’ll try that tomorrow.
Truly sorry for your loss Bev, and thanks for the good advice.
Thanks S&Diva and Val.
It has been cofirmed today that Fugley does have degenerative disc disease in all of her verterbrae. When I took her in, when she was in crisis, last wednesday, three of her discs had protuded, causing her to be in an immense amount of pain. In addition to the discs she also has some unusual hardening and inflation of the nerve endings in two sites, one of which, unfortunately, was touching and facing increased pressure from one of the protusion sites.
Fugley is a little old lady, even I don’t live in a fantasy, she is sixteen (seventeen in December), had a wicked (unusal – given that she is an angel!) life, and I just intend to make what short time she has left as comfortable as possible.
The good thing about MRI scans is that they can give you an incredible amount of information about the patients anatomy, the down side is, I now know all the things that are going wrong in her body (and beleive me, there are plenty), but really, aside from giving her her meds and keeping her comfortable, there is not much more I want to focus on right now. People have dogs that get old all the time, not everybody needs to know everything. Although I do feel empowered with the information, I feel that if I let it, it could cloud my last few weeks/months with my dog.
Edited for bad use of the English language.
Blimey! That’s high.
We live in a three storey terraced house, and we have the heating on ALL the time. We spend a combined total of £171 each month on gas and electricity. I am told by friends that this is really high. I am with NPower, but I think mine is expensive because I use so much gas.
Do your provider send you estimated bills? Get you meter read ASAP, they might owe you a fortune. Also get your supplier to send you details of how much you were using this time last year, I found it really helpful to compare.

i stopped thinking anything you had to say was of value the day you accused me of being like the people who murdered your brother so please feel free to not bother ‘commenting’ any further !!!
Wow, you really are something else, I accused you of being narrow minded, which you are.
In addition, this is a discussion board, so I will feel free to comment whenever I choose.
