Lovely video Sue. I think you had a bit more than us, we have about 5 inches here.
My 2 were just the same today….charging about like pups.
I do like to see Dogs playing & having fun.
There is more expected this afternoon….I’m off to the woods with my 2, should be funJanuary 16, 2009 at 5:52 pm in reply to: Walking dogs together that are not that keen on eachother #71721**Woofums**MemberMy friend & I met a Boxer on our walk today (lovely 9 yo bitch)
All the Dogs greeted one another nicely & went their seperate ways…we were watching to see how they reacted as we don’t see many Boxers. They have quite a “stiff” carriage…not sure if that may effect how some Dogs react to them.

I stick to my opinion & experiences & will make no further comment as I obviously know nothing & am a terrible owner.

My Dogs & their pals tussle & play fight all the time….very noisily. They aren’t challenging the pack order at all they are playing.
They are loud & energetic…but out of control ??? no way One word from my friends & I & it stops & they return to our sides. Doesn’t matter which of us tells them to stop…they do it.
We have a “wimpy” Dog in the group, but he will still play & rough & tumble with the others. Now add a strange Dog into the group & their will be lots of raised tails stiffened body language. That is something different. The wimpy Dog will run to his owner, or hide behind the dominant bitch.
Once everyone “knows their place” again they are fine.My Bitch is top of the pecking order & also the quietest of the group…but she has very clear body language.
A Dog has to be secure within it’s own little pack (respect it’s owner) before it can be expected to be interact with strange people & Dogs.
Personally I’d carry on walking Loki with this new Dog…..as long as there is no physical danger to either Dog.

On a recent group walk (about 10 GSD’s), my boy & a friends entire Male, did just the same…on back legs, noisily posturing. We walked away & very quickly they both trotted off to join us.
It didn’t read to me like the other Dog was attacking in any way…maybe I read it wrong.
I’m not a fan of suppressing natural behaviour, sometimes we just have to let a Dog be a Dog.**Woofums**MemberAll about Dogs is the one cancelled this year.
The Wag & Bone is supposed to be going ahead…but I hadn’t heard a date mentioned.**Woofums**MemberShe’s still a gobby cow ;D
**Woofums**Member1. A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms.
The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with
loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven’t eaten in 3 years.
Which room is safest for him?Room 2…..unless he is the assassins target
2. A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him under water for over 5
minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out
together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be?She’s a photographer in a darkroom
3. What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and grey when you
throw it away ?Prob coal
4. Can you name three consecutive days without using the words Wednesday,
Friday, or Sunday?Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow
5. This is an unusual paragraph. I’m curious as to just how quickly you can
find out what is so unusual about it. It looks so ordinary and plain that
you would think nothing was wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with
it! It is highly unusual though. Study it and think about it, but you still
may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out.No letter E’s
**Woofums**MemberGlad to see the end of 2008.
It started off o.k but went very wonky in the last few weeks.
The laptop motherboard died (luckily I had my pics saved on other H.D’s)
I got the Flu…I know loads of people had it, but I’m prone to Pleurisy & had such a terrible pain in my chest. I only stayed in for 2 days & have just stopped coughing after 3 weeks.
My back decided to give out on me on Monday…after being problem free, more or less for 18 months. Looks like I may need the procedure doing again in the future.
To top it off the radiator in the spare room burst yesterday morning & water came through the kitchen ceiling. Thank heavens I have a stop cock outside & could drain the system…but I forgot to turn off the electricity & got a shock. It can only get better. !!!
**Woofums**MemberThe trouble is if you post an image on an open forum there’s nothing stopping a person taking it.
I’ve been emailed via Flickr & D.A asking for use of my pics (both are accounts with copyright restrictions)
A pro photographer doing a shoot, where the public only pay for pics they buy, are within their rights to sell all images taken. They will have that written in the T&C somewhere.
They pay the store an amount for floor space & make some money from after sales, but they can charge more per image if it’s used in a campaign.
Good quality stock photography is big business.**Woofums**MemberIn show birds they add Tomato,Cayenne pepper and Paprika to the diet to enhance red colouring.
**Woofums**MemberThere have been a few definate cases this year (that I know of) 2 in Berkshire in which one Dog died & one survived & another in Bedfordshire, another fatality.
All 3 Dogs were rescues from different kennels.**Woofums**MemberI think the trainer should have 3rd party insurance too…as he is inviting people to use his services.
Supposing one of them has an accident on his premises ?**Woofums**MemberWeight also has an immense affect on the hocks in a young dogs, I like to see youngsters a bit on the light side.
Are the feet turning out ? or are they in line.
More & more of the “show line” Dogs turning up at our club are like this nowdays….most of them when scored have excellent hips.
Are the vets advising ligament tightening ( I know of one that had this done)
To be honest I wouldn’t go down that route if there are no adverse effects**Woofums**Memberhttps://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2
This is the link to check your security….ideally all ports should be in stealth mode…but if (like me) you are using a wireless router..Port 22 will show as closed.
I’d turn off protected mode & see if P.B works.
